This morning I actually sat by someones deathbed for a while...

Min älsta son fick en iPod i julklapp. Jag upptäckte snart att det finns en application, som heter "sleep talk", som spelar in när man pratar i sömnen. Nu har jag, med min sons goda minne, börjat använda denna app. Efter första natten, som var i natt har jag två mycket otydliga inspelningar. Jag har försökt att lasta upp dem hit för att du ska få höra, men jag har inte fått till det ännu. Jag ska göra nya försök så småningom (är det nån som vet hur man konverterar .caf-filer till ett mer användbart format?).

My oldest son got an iPod for Christmas. I soon discovered that there is an application, called "sleep talk", which starts recording when you talk in your sleep. Now I have, with my son's approval, started using this app. After the first night, which was last night, I have two very obscure recordings. I have tried to upload them here for you to hear, but I have not yet been able to do it. I will make new attempts eventually (is there anyone who knows how to convert .caf files into a more usable format?).

Jag jobbar just nu för fullt med nya verk till en utställning som jag ska ha i Hamar, Norge, om ett par månader. Det blir faktiskt den första separatutställning jag gör som helt och hållet tar utgångspunkt i mina drömmar och i nattduksbord. Här är några preliminära skisser.


I am right now working on some new pieces for an exhibition i Hamar that opens in a couple of months. It´actually going to be me first solo-exhibition totally dedicated to dreams and nightstands. Here are som preliminary sketches.

Det här är vad jag drömde klockan nio minuter i tre på morgonen den 21e augusti:

"Jag åker runt och hämtar upp olika nattduksbord till samlingen. Enda problemet är vädret, men det ska nog gå bra det också."


This is what I dreamt on the 12th of august at nine minutes to 3 in the morning:

"I drive around collecting differen nightstands for my collection. The only problem is the weather, but I think it´ll be alright."

I found a new nightstand for my sleeping night job. I have had that job for months now and I have really been missing a nightstand. Now - at last - I have found one that is sufficiantly small for the space I have. Maybe not the most beautiful nightstand I ever saw, but it will do the job (that is: to put my dream diary on). Will be posting pictures next week, when it´s in place in it´s new home.

As I have stated earlier, I am a collector. I collect all kinds of stuff, but the issue here is of course nightstands. The last couple of days I´ve come across three new (that is: old, but new to me) nightstands, all three donated to me for free. My guess is that the one to the left is from the 1970´s or -80´s. The other ones probably from the 1930´s or -40´s (and that´s just me guessing there). Anyway: Thank You!

Den norske violinisten och kompositören Ole Bull (1810-1880) hade vad man väl, utan att överdriva, kan kalla extravagant heminredningssmak. Så här såg det ut där han sov. Nattduksbordet kan kanske sägas vara det minst vulgära inslaget i den här sovmiljön.

Jag har det med att samla på saker... Och eftersom jag nu driver den här bloggen så har jag börjat samla på nattduksbord också. Men bara om de är gratis eller mycket billiga. Det senaste tillskottet ser du på bilden här under och det var gratis. Fint tycker jag. När jag får tid och lust ska jag renovera det.

I collect things ... And since run this blog, I have started collecting nightstands too. But only if they are free or very cheap. The latest addition is the one in the picture above and it was free. Nice looking, I think. When I get the time and inclination I'll renovate it.
